Before you write in
Most tracking issues come down to permissions or battery settings. Quick checks:
- Location permission is set to "Always" (iOS) / "Allow all the time" (Android). "While using the app" is not enough for automatic detection.
- Motion & Fitness permission is granted (iOS) so Milescribe can wake when a drive begins.
- Battery optimization is disabled or set to "Unrestricted" for Milescribe (especially Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo).
- Background App Refresh (iOS) is on for Milescribe.
- A phone restart resolves most stuck states.
What to include in your email
To help you fast, include:
- App version (Settings → About) and OS version
- Device model
- What you expected vs. what happened
- The privacy-safe diagnostic report from Settings, if the issue involves tracking
Please don't send route histories by default. If route evidence is genuinely needed to diagnose your issue, we'll explain exactly what to share and you'll export it yourself.
Common answers
- A drive wasn't detected: check the permission items above, then try a manual trip entry so the drive isn't lost.
- Restore purchase isn't working: open Settings → Restore Purchases while signed in to the same App Store / Google Play account used for the original purchase.
- Export looks wrong: check the date range on the export screen; merged or split trips appear under their edited dates.
